DR. IGOR KORNEITCHOUK

B.M., Case Western Reserve University / Cleveland Institute of Music *
M.M., Case Western Reserve University / Cleveland Institute of Music *
Ph.D., University of California, San Diego **

I have taught at Mesa College full time since 1990. From the Fall of 1996 until the Summer of 1998 I was appointed Chair of the Music Department. The Chair position rotated back to me by the Fall of 2003, and I held that position for another 4 years until the Spring of 2007.

Four years after my first term as Chair my plans for a new Electronic Music Studio (EMS) were realized. The curriculum I had designed for electronic music finally had comparable facilities to match.

Other accomplishments during my first term as Department Chair include creating a Recital Hour course, Music 123, open to the general public but also available to students for credit, and establishing a composition curriculum, Music 206A & Music 206B.
